POLICIES:
Attendance/Missed Classes: due to illness or injury may be made up at the students convenience in another class time during the year, as well as classes cancelled due to inclement weather. Students are required to take all the ballet classes in their division and are expected to arrive and participate in their classes on time. This includes all levels within the school. during the School Calendar year and the Summer Session. Registered students in the Intermediate Advanced through Advanced Divisions must attend all ballet classes to participate in the Jazz and Modern classes offered in their Division. This pertains to their training during the School year and Summer Session as well. Progress in class is dependent upon and the direct result of consistent participation in all classes in their level. Absences are considered excused only for medical reasons and must be phoned into the office. Classes may be made up in your own level or the level below. If a student has excessive absences, a meeting will be held with the Director/Faculty and the student and parents. to review the Level placement and continued training of that student. Be advised that casting for community performances and Dance Centre North productions are based on attendance, ability and consistent class participation in the student's level and is dependent upon the Director/Faculty decision. While additional rehearsals are scheduled for such productions/ presentations, some class times may be utilized should it be deemed necessary for the benefit of the production and students appearances.
Tuition payments are based on a yearly fee from September - June, payable in 6 installments. When registering for a class division at Dance Centre North during the School year and including the Summer Session, payment is due in full prior to the beginning of each semester/session. If you are aware in advanced of previous commitments/obligations, you are welcome to utilize the School's make up policy or pay by the class. When registering your child for the School year and/or Summer Session you are liable for the total amount due from September through June. unless a doctor's notice can be supplied stating the student's inability to attend class due to a medical problem. Additionally, no credits will be issued without a letter from your physician stating the student's inability to participate for an extended period of time. A student's place in class is held for them throughout the year or session. unless the office is notified of their withdrawal/inability to attend the school.
There will be a $25.00 fee for any check returned to the School.
Returning Graduates of Dance Centre North are afforded a 10% discount at any point during the year toward their tuition.

Training in dance requires great concentration and focus, it is difficult for both the individual and the group when a student comes in late. Running late is sometimes unavoidable, however for the safety of your child and their training, please be prompt. It is important to remember to allow time to change clothes and use the restroom before class. It is not safe to dance without warming up therefore, any dancer in Intermediate or above
arriving more than fifteen minutes late will not be allowed to participate in class. She/he will be allowed to watch class and then make it up at a later date.
Registration for the September 2011 through June 2012 school year begins on Tuesday, August 23rd and ends
Friday. September 2nd. Registration may be done at our “Open House Registration”, August 23 - 25 between 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., or by mailing in the registration form and the first installment payment by Friday, September 2nd.
Without pre-registration your child's placement in the class is not guaranteed. New students to Dance Centre North under the age of 8 do not need to attend a placement class. All other students should attend our placement session at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23.
CLASS ATTIRE:
Ballet (Girls): Solid black leotard (no multiple strap backs), pink tights and pink ballet slippers for Ballet levels I through Advanced. Pre-ballet may wear any solid color leotard with pink tights and pink ballet slippers.
Ballet (Boys): White t-shirt, black tights with black ballet slippers.
Modern, Jazz, Tap: Any solid color leotard and footless tights. Tap students please wear tights with feet or convertibles. Tan buckle tap shoes for beginning tap students.
Hair must be worn up into a bun. Short hair must be secured away from face. No excessive jewelry, leg or thigh warmers, shorts, t-shirts, skirts or sweat pants may be worn during class.
Please label all your child's dance clothing, particularly the shoes. Unlabeled dancewear is hard to return.
